The Atlanta Hawks of the NBA heard about Jackson's story. While Jackson was in the hospital, they mailed him a package of Atlanta Hawks swag and encouragement to keep fighting.
The Atlanta Hawks is Jackson's favorite NBA team. As he opened the box, he was nearly brought to tears. Jackson could not believe that the Atlanta Hawks knew who he was and cared that he was fighting to get out of the hospital.
The Hawks sent a jersey with Jackson's name on it and #3 (Jackson's high school basketball number). There were bags with his name, shirts, water bottles and of course a basketball signed by Trae Young, Jackson's favorite NBA player.
They also sent a video of a few of the players wishing Jackson to get well and keep fighting.
For a professional organization to encourage and inspire Jackson during extreme suffering shows how much they care and not just a basketball team.
When Jackson finally got out of the hospital, the Atlanta Hawks provided him a lifetime experience of attending a game and meeting players. Atlanta Hawks helped save Jackson's life.
